***Happy Mexican Independence Day!***
I ran many errands today and I TRIED to get internet, but there was yet another road block…I don’t have a French Visa or check book, argh! I’ve only been here 9 days, I know, but it seems like no matter how much I try and run around, nothing gets done. =( I just want internet! I have so much homework for my online classes and it’s not possible to do it at MacDo.
Tonight I met another girl who is teaching English here through the same program. We’re part of the Facebook group for our program and we found out we were getting here around the same day. She called. She gave me an address. I showed up. I asked no questions. I just said OK. HAHAHAHA. Wait…where…am I going? Hehehehe…no idea. I arrived at the address a few blocks from the Moulin Rouge. I had to walk through so many sex shops to get there. Um…where am I going? He he he. It’s ok! It turned out to be a tattoo shop that was hosting a Yelp event. I know, right! The place had free beer, samosas, and cupcakes. It was full of French and American Yelpers. These are hard core yelpers who review places on a regular basis. She was waiting outside. Success! We talked and talked and talked. She hadn’t wanted to tell me it was a Yelp event, because she thought it might be weird. Not weird at all. I use Yelp all the time. BTW this is my first time meeting someone from the internet. I got home around 11pm and was very buzzed.
Last night was the first night since I got here that I slept through the entire night. I usually end up waking up at 4am and tossing and turning til 7am… =( no fun!
